Also known as Marigold. Tenacious : A tenacious fragrance is a fragrance which lasts long without disturbing it’s main theme or scent. Tenacity: It is described for the perfume’s lasting power without affecting it characteristic odour . Terpenic: It is Sharp, piney and biting note with pungent scent. What comes as a surprise is that in perfumery terpenic facets show up in the most delicate of floral accords such as lilac and freesia. A small degree of sharpness can cut the richness and create an interesting interplay of sensations, but an overly terpenic scent in a fine fragrance is not pleasant. Theme: The idea thought of by the creative perfumer or given to the perfumer by a profile. Thin: It can be well described as a perfume lacking in the overtones necessary to give it body or richness or depth . Musically, this condition might be illustrated by the sound of a single violin played without accompaniment. Tiare: It is a variety of Gardenia, Gardenia tahitensis. Tilleul: French for Linden . Tobacco & Leather : In perfume, tobacco and leather notes enhances great tenacity and used primarily in men’s fragrances. Its use is a important factor in perfumery. Tolu: Also known as Balsam of Tolu. A tree resin from South America, which when dried is said to have a strong aroma with elements of vanilla & cinnamon. Tonka Bean: It is a thumb-size pod from a plant native to Brazil, said to smell of vanilla with strong hints of cinnamon, cloves and almonds used as a vanilla substitute for cheap factor. Top Note: The immediate effect or the first impression on application of the perfume upon the sense of smell. Chemically, the top note is the most volatile material in the composition of the fragrance oil and often it is deliberately accentuated by the use of a highly volatile chemical and diffusive additive in perfume. The top notes are citrus notes and light fruits. Aroma elements that are light and evaporate quickly but have very high impact materials in the formulation that show themselves in the first stages of evaporation. Simple way the top note of a perfume is the fragrance that is initially smelled. |
